i am dying for this also..
but evidentally Sling has abandoned the Symbian Platform, and a lot of its loyal customers in addition to potential new customers as well..
Thier silence regarding Symbian^3 just shows a lack of respect it has for its customer base.
Nobody is asking for a release date, only to know if Symbian will be supported going forward so people can make an informed decsion when buying their next smartphone if they really want to use a SlingPlayer device.
but I guess that is too much to ask from this company.. shame..
Woah! I got censored for noticing someone else got censored? I didn't even say anything bad, I just made an observation.
I like my (original) slingbox even though they constantly keep trying to get me to exchange it for a new one because they say it won't support new features. It's really everything I want it to be. I just want my symbian^3 supported. You can install the S60 version, but when you try to enter the finder ID (or whatever to link it), you can't select the box to enter the information. It truly might be as simple as redoing the setup portion and the rest might basically work. Lots of other S60 stuff works.
The problem is that Symbian/Nokia is the most popular phone and os in the world, but in the US, fads and slick marketing push things in another direction.
Basic functionality is fine with me...change channels is about all I want to do. I don't have to have a channel guide or pause/unpause.
Rather than delete this post (as you have done to others), just give some indication as to the interest of Slingmedia in making a Symbian^3 app...?
Slingmedia, we are your customers...as someone comment above, we dont ask for a releasedate or so, its just a question if there is going to be a symbian ^3 version.
Its easy to port the iPhone or Android app :
Maybe someone here knows how to fix this...
