Does using Slingbox.com use ISP bandwidth

I have a Slingbox Solo connected to a D-Link DIR-655 router which provides a home wireless network. The router is connected to the internet via an ISP that has placed a restriction of 20GB/month downloads to the router. We use Mac products with the latest Mac OS. Previously, the SlingPlayer application was used to view the contents of our DVR and we were confident that the signal from the Solo never left the building. With the move to watching using the slingbox.com website, it is not clear whether the TV signal is leaving the building, getting onto the internet, then being rerouted back to the house, or whether it still stays in the building. Anybody know?
