Website (for Slingbox 500)
Slingbox.com>Watch tab>Settings>TV Service>Cable Provider>Set Top Box>Test Remote.
This option may not be available on all desktop versions. (make sure you are using either Internet Explorer or Fire Fox since Chrome does not allow you to access all settings)
Slingplayer for Desktop (for all Slingboxes)
1.) Select your Slingbox model on the Directory list
2.) Next to your Slingbox there should be an option that says, "Reconfigure"
3.) Click on reconfigure, then you should see a section that says, "Input"
4.) Select the input you are using, fill out the information required (Slingbox Name, Zip/Postal Code, Cable Provider, and Set Top Box Model.)
5.) Test the remote.
(Slingplayer for Desktop will let you setup, configure and watch your Slingbox if you have a Slingbox M1.
If you have any other Slingbox model the Slingplayer for Desktop will only let you setup or configure your Slingbox.)

Slingplayer App>Settings>Sources>Reconfigure or Configure Source Connected to Slingbox>Cable Provider>Set Top Box Model>Test Remote
(unable to setup a new Slingbox on Android tablets)
Mobile (only for Slingbox M1/M2)
Slingplayer App>Settings>Reconfigure or Configure Source Connected to Slingbox>Cable Provider>Set Top Box Model>Test Remote
(Settings will be the gear icon. If you are unable to see icon, make sure you have your phone on horizontal view)
