No, only on my desktop; my laptop works fine.

Same problem. I know there is nothing wrong with my SlingBox Solo, as I can watch it just fine using the desktop application. I cannot connect via slingbox.com, getting the same W213 error message. I changed Safari to 32-bit mode and restarted it. Those were the only instructions given.
When I called Sling, they would not help me without wanting to charge me, saying my box was out of warranty--even though the problem has NOTHING to do with the box itself. How's that for customer service?
Anyone come up with a solution?
I have a SlingBox Pro, viewing from the desktop and laptop were going fine until I downloaded the application for my VZW Droid, the Droid connected and worked great. The problem started to occur after the Droid disconnected, I would be in business after power cycling the SlingBox. There is obvious issue with the Droid app, tech support and the app writer, otherwise all is well. I have no issue connecting with a VZW PC770 card and laptop(PC &&|| Mac). I'm going to get my money back for this poorly created app. They didn't make enough money off of me from the unit itself so they decided to pedal the POS app to bump up their quarterlies! SLING THIS SLING SNOTBOX! It's too bad, if it had worked for the Droid I was going to purchase a volume license for all my field technicians across this great nation of ours! Looks like I will be going back to Miscrosoft Media Server.
P.S. I bought the SlingBox Pro for the HD so that I could view the old Sally Struthers commercials that I do love. Happy New Year!
Not sure what happened, but this error no longer appears on my netbook.
Likely it was some sort of conflict with my Droid app. Kinda sucks that I couldn't use my netbook for a couple months until they resolved the issue. They wanted me to pay for their problem. It's too bad Sling sold out to Dish Network.

I'm having the same problem. It works fine from my home, works fine on my iPhone but no longer works on my laptop regardless of connection. This is extremely frustrating now as I'm in Asia for the next 3 weeks and will be stuck watching on my iPhone unless someone has a solution. I've sung the praises of Sling consistently over the last few years but I must say that support is lacking. Since the chances of me going to Dish are ~0.0% I'm going to have to think about alternate solutions unless I can find a solution. This isn't worth the trouble.
The solution is to download the " Internet Explorer Platform Preview "
through this website
DOWNLOAD THE PLATFORM PREVIEW NOT THE IE9 BETA
after you install it just go to Page >> Open >> paste the following URL:

I having the same issue with my slingbox ,but my slingbox is setup at my house .
It works fine from anyware but not at my job, can any one tell me how can i configure my forefront tmg Server, to allow me to view my Slingbox at my workplace?
My Tmg Server is blocking it , I tried creating rules for it but i`m still having problems conneting to my slingbox at my house.
I keep getting Code:W213 in my browser.
Wow I didn't find this thread until after I posted another of the same kind.
I'm trying to connect to my Solo through slingbox's website and through the separate application. I never have downloaded the mobile app so that should not affect my setup. I've tried the various reset options (besides redoing the entire setup process which would be a challenge since I'm remote from where the sling is setup). If I reset plist files for firefox, and the sling app, restarted the router and the actual box itself, and still receive that same error (W213) would it mean my only option is to restore the box to factory settings?
Any help would be appreciated!
I've got a weird issue like this.
I have a sling adapter coming tomorrow so i figured try the web view since i hear the latest sling player app does not work with the new adapter
On the laptop its working fine
On my pc which is on the same router except its wired and the lappy is wireless and secued BUT works
Now on the PC the stand alone app loads right up.
I close it and tried IE and its not installing the plugin so i go screw it lets try netscape 4 and it at least loads the window and says connecting but it eventually errors. Once it errors i have to reboot the PC to get the app to work
I've used the web browser viewer in the past on that PC so i'm lost
I mean it works yet does not work after i try the web based viewer
But i can load it right now on this wireless lappy
I port forwarded 5001 just in case but it never had a problem in the past and i do not go out of the network. I only use this in my house in the local network
any idea. Turned off firewall too but it kinda works as long as i use the player.
i might not be able to use that with the new dish adapter i get tomorrow so i'm trying to fix it before i get the new hardware
I had that problem a week ago. I removed my Sling Player and Web SlingPlayer Active X applications. I reloaded my Slinbox CD, configured everything and was able to watch my TV in my home. I called Slingbox support to ask about the W213 problem and the 'won't work on Windows XP issue.' They said that everything was OK on my end and even connected to my Slingbox Pro. I tried to connect from one of my other laptop computers when I was away from home and got the 'wrong password' message and couldn't connect. I tried this evening on my other laptop - away from home again - and was successful. I don't know why it's working now, but I haven't done anything except reload my Slingbox CD. I still can't use my Slingbox by clicking on the 'Launch SlingPLayer' icon, but going through the internet works OK.
Slingbox support was nice to me and didn't charge me the $29.99 for the information they gave me. I am running Windows XP Professional on my laptop.
