Here the news: I upgraded my Mac operating system to Sierra. I entered the Slingbox website and it asked me to get Slingplayer, which was new for me because I had always used embedded streaming.
SlingPlayer is an application that plays streaming outside of Safari, but it has a huge number of failures (there are many claims in forum including mine).
You have to download the application from the website and install it on APPLICATIONS. Follow signs to the tutor. It was not very friendly to discover it was asking to install that application, so you must be patient.
The first incident, disconnect the TV hdmi cable to the laptop was frozen image. Solution restart the laptop.
Then suddenly he stopped playing. Solution, I waited about 25 seconds and automatically resumed streaming.
New sudden stop play. I waited, never returned streaming. I left Slingplayer and Safari, I returned to enter, a sign told me that "my Slingbox is misconfigured and use Firefox or log on to reset the Slingbox" I never did. Solution, restart the laptop.
Never use Firefox with Slingbox because the audio and video came out desynchronized, but now I used it with the novelty that automatically adjusts desynchronization which is also annoying, so I keep not using Firefox in the future.
The best is "not to touch any control" in Slingplayer and you have a calm and continuous streaming.
I think Slingplayer is an interesting application that will be very useful when correcting problems that have.
Those are the developments in Slingplayer in about four hours of streaming.

I also upgraded to Sierra 10.12, and the sling box app no longer works. According to the website Sierra is supported, but obviously not. I have tried it every day to see if Slingbox has fixed the problem, but not luck. The app works as always on my iPad even with the iOS upgrade. Would like to know when the app will be fixed.
'glad' to see I am not going mad and others have the same problem. Upgraded to macOS Sierra and the WebSlingPlayer plug-in no longer works. I was asked whether I had installed the player previously (which I had), when clicking yes I saw the usual start up screen ("initialising") rapidly followed by an error message :
"Safari cannot open spb-sling-player:// because macOS does not recognise Internet addresses starting with spb-slin-player:"
I went to the Sling Media website and tried to get support through the support tab but every time I click on support it shows me the support page briefly but before I can navigate to any heading I get thrown back to the first page again. Tried to send an e-mail to email@example.com only to be told that they do not accept e-mails to this address and I should go to the support site (which keeps throwing me out). Catch 22!
Will try to contact them by phone on Monday.
Grateful to hear anything new about this issue.
Thanks for the update. I finally managed to contact Sling support in the US by telephone and obtained confirmation that their plug-in and App does not currently work with macOS Sierra.
They promised to post on their website once they have solved the problem. Nothing so far.
It is a great pity that they closed down their very competent European technical support teams. I am also surprised that they did not test their plug-in and App with macOS Sierra well before it was released.
We live in hope.
