This is a very confusing post
I have a Bell 6131 from Canada and it used to work very well. I am setting it up on a new set top box and the slingbox is right on it.
I thought the Bell 6131 was a STB ? How can you set it up with a new STB ? Or did you actually mean to say "I used to have a Bell 6131 from Canada and it worked very well. I am now setting up a new set top box and the slingbox is right on it.". That would make more sense.
In which case what is the new Set top box ?
I don't use the IR.
Eh ? You have to use the IR, that is how the Slingbox works. Or do you mean you are not using the external IR Blaster and are relying on the internal IR transmitters. If so why don't you try it ?
I can see when I press a button that everything stops and then it just continues on the same chanel.
That will always happen regardless of whether you have the correct remote or a working iR. It is simply the Slingplayer pausing while sending the message.

Sorry about this. I can't change chanels anymore with my virtual remote. It is a Bell remote from Canada. It is the right one. I pluged the provided IR blaster and nothing. The only thing that works is the volume and mute buttons. I tried the flash test with a camera and can't see it. The only thing I changed is my real Bell remote for a new one and I had to reprogram it for the set top box to see it. I have a slingbox 350 that works well but I have to call home to have someone change the chanel directely.
Sorry about the confusion. You got everything right. I did try the IR
blaster today and it doesn't work either. I used to have the slingbox on
another Bell box same model and it worked fine. Now no control at all. I
tried a few virtual remotes and none worked. I even tried to plug it on
an other Bell box that I have at home and I have the image but no
control still. I suspect it doesn't send a IR signal. I tried to see the
flash with a camera and couldn't seem to see it. It is a slingbox 350.
I am out of options
