I am using a Sprint Epic (Samsung Galaxy S) and it was there for me and I clicked on buy and it gave me an error message that I needed to go to checkout.google.com and now it is no longer listed in the market. I factory reset my phone and it still doesn't show up. My friend has ATT Captivate (Samsung Galaxy S)and he sees it fine.
See The availability of SlingPlayer within the countries regardless of android market openings:
See the list of Countries where it ccould be sold:
Currently, developers in these locations may sell priced applications to users in the following countries:
- Czech Republic
- Hong Kong
- New Zealand
- South Korea
- United Kingdom
- United States
The outcome of this is that even you can see paid applications in android market from other developers you can buy slingplayer only in the countries of the first list! The rest of us just have to wait for it...
So obviously Mr Sling has to do something about the situation....
Promptly give us a precise answer where and when SlingPlayer is going to be available...
Thank you in advance...
Yeah the app is still missing for me (HTC Aria running Android 2.1 Update 1).
Been over a month now, and after trying to get some info from HTC they've come full circle and said it's not google or htc's fault.
The protected apps that are missing are the fault of the app developers.
Not sure what to expect, at this point not very much.
So no Slingbox app purchase and no more Android/Google products for me (their help has been a joke).
Hi, bbygfy and all.
The SlingPlayer Mobile application is available only for supported Mobile devices and also for the iPad. The following links will provide you with further information.
Just make sure to use the Android Mobile device browser.
It has to do with Android 2.2 . a few days ago I saw a Slingmedia comment (I no longer see it...) that it has nothing to do with Slingmedia but that Google does not (yet) allow this and some other apps on the Android 2.2 Marketplace. This is a real bummer for many of us Sling lovers. Apparently there is hacking solution but it seems to be rather complicated unless you are an experienced techie. I am a simple techie and stay away from playing with my Archos 101 inner system.
I am disappointed that Slingmedia does not keep us better informed on the timeline of the solution. For me the Slingplayer was a major reason for buying the Archos and I now dread the day that Tmobile upgrades my Galaxy S phone to Android 2.2. I may then also lose the Slingplayer on my phone.
Some user put an URL... for downloading slingplayer mobile for adroind and an #item number to find it.....
and yes it worked...i downloaded the slingplayer for my sony ericsson xperia 10 mini.. and it works just fine...and free....i was going to buy it,...but it was for free...so...even better...!
but i guess it was erased ..!!
the msg is not here any more!
