You don't appear to have done a forum search before posting this question. There are hundreds of posts about this. You haven't been hacked, your TV provider has probably done an overnight firmware update to your cable/satellite box to implement HDCP. As the message say, you cannot use an HDMI cable ANYWHERE on the system and I assume you have an HDMI from the box feeding the TV. Take it out.
Hi, I have had my slingbox 500 connected to my direct TV 41W genie box connected since July 2015 using the component cables and also my tv with the hdmi cable. Tonight i had to reconfigure my slingbox again and am getting the message.
How come i was able to use it with both cables plugged in for so long and it is now that i cannot?
I think my computer or my system at home has been hacked. It worked fine one two nights ago. Last night I got the following message that appears about 5 seconds after a program starts to stream:
"Your TV does not support this programs content protection. Replacing the TV's HDMI cable with component cables will allow you to view the program." Nothing makes it go away and I can't watch anything. I restarted my computer. I repaired the Slingbox software on my computer using Microsoft provided utility. I had someone at home restart the Slingbox. Nothing works.
It doesn't make sense because I get the same message when I'm not connected to a TV.
Can anyone help?
