I discovered that composite video input does not come out on the HDMI cable I used to set up the slingbox. I can use the website to view the slingbox video, but cannot access it on the local network, so my remaining question is can I access the video directly from the slingbox, or must you use the website?
Hello Hazen Schools,
You can watch the video on the TV you used to setup the Slingbox, you will need to run a pass through to do this. All pass through means is that the cables you used to send video to the Slingbox will also need to be used from the Output of the Slingbox to the viewing TV. If you used component for video from the camera to the Slingbox Input, you will need to run component to the TV from the Slingbox Output. Change the input channel on TV to the component input (or source) to watch it on the TV.
Hope this helps.

I just purchased a Slingbox 500, received it today. I went through the setup and was forced to "lie" about the video source to continue. On the setup screen I can see the camera video, but I can not see the video on the monitor when I select view live tv. How do I connect the composite video from a camera to the slingbox to broadcast across the network, and how do I view it on another computer using a browser?
