Every time I set up my Slingbox to work over the internet it is OK for a short while and then the router seems to lose the ability to stream over the internet and I have to go through the setup all over again.
That means that when I go away I will not be able to use my Slingbox.
Any ideas will be helpfull.
Most likely the problem is that the Slingbox is getting a random DHCP address with the lease expires. I would recommend setting up a persistant IP address. This can be done by using a reserved DHCP or static IP address for your Slingbox. This way your port forwarding rules aren't made invalidated when your Slingbox gets a different IP address.
