Usually there's a more descriptive link associated with that error.
The operation failed because it was taking too long to finish.

Not sure if your problem is relevent but here's the post I'm referring.
Hello again everybody,
We know that the last week has been very frustrating for you. We are very sorry for the length of time it has taken to get these problems resolved.
However, in the last 2 days we have made great strides toward completely putting this behind us. Many more of you are able to log in and connect to your Slingbox without any issues. But we will not stop working on this until everyone is back up and running.
From what we can tell, there are three different issues that we are still trying to stamp out completely. Having all three discussed here is making it very difficult for us to know when changes that were made are actually helping.
Please click on the link below that best describes your current experience:
- You are unable to log in to Sling Accounts from within Slingbox.com or any other SlingPlayer.
- You can log in to your Sling Account, but you are having trouble connecting to your Slingbox over the Internet.
- You can log in to your Sling Account and can connect to your Slingbox, but once connected you are having trouble controlling your TV.
Thanks again for your patience. We read through everything here and your feedback really is important to us.

Hi. The third option in this post is most like what I am experiencing. You can log in to your Sling Account and can connect to your Slingbox, but once connected you are having trouble controlling your TV.. I appear able to control my device but it says there is no video stream.
However, I cannot see the info associated with this when I click the link. It says I am unauthorised. Can someone post the info associated with this link please.
I see that this thread is closed as assumed corrected. However, nobody replied to my post where I could not get to the link in my post above.
I still cannot see the text associated with the condition You can log in to your Sling Account and can connect to your Slingbox, but once connected you are having trouble controlling your TV. Can somebody send me the information please aas this is just what is happening.
I can now get access to my SlingBox Solo using SlingPlayer on my laptop when running Expat Shield, which makes my PC appear to still be in the UK where my Slingbox is located.
Sorry. Missed out the bit about my Slingcatcher. Although SlingPlayer on PC runs via the Expat Shield, the SlingCatcher still gets connected to my SlingBox Solo and then fails just as SlingPlayer does without Expat Shield running.
Are there any changes I can make in SlingCartcher or router configuration so that it will work as does SlingPlayer when Expat Shield is running?
I am having this same issue. When I try to click on the response from eferz, "You can log in to your Sling Account, but you are having trouble connecting to your Slingbox over the Internet." I get the following response: "It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested. You might contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake."
In short, I have no solution to my problem. I appear to be having the exact same problem and error messages that heidelinde is having. The only other bit of information I can add to this is I also get this error, "SlingPlayer is unable to render the video stream.".
Any help would be appreciated.
I cannot connect to either of my sling boxes located in my house. I can connect using my HTC Touch Pro 2 to both sling boxes, what is Error 0x92340011? It would be nice if Sling Box offer support at a rate that I could afford. When I first PURCHASED they were very willing to help me, now with no Email support I guess I will just throw away the two sling boxes I bought. I have checked with ESET and my firewall setup is correct. ANYONE THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IF YOU CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM. My internet security is ESET Smart Security 5
