The problem is probably how Slingplayer interacts with Windows 7's Windows Presentation Foundation. You can change how the Slingplayer interacts with it by editing the "VideoRenderer" values within the "RenderProperties" subsection of the SBCore.ini file.
Here are the applicable options:
- 0=Legacy (GDI)
- 1=VMR-7 (DirectDraw)
- 2=VMR-9 (Direct3D)
- 4=Enhanced Video Renderer (VISTA only)
For Windows 7, the SBCore.ini file it is located in "%PROGRAMDATA%\Sling Media\SlingPlayer\2.0".
Thanks for responding so quickly. I did try all the different video renderer settings as you suggested. Setting #3 gives me no image at all. All the other settings did not improve the video tearing issue. The 'jaggered edges' seem to be a horizontal tearing issue only and are most noticeable on outlines and very noticeable on text. Any more ideas ??
You should make sure the confirm the settings, by pressing [Alt]+[Shift]+[i] that way you can confirm the changes.
Also, here is a post (https://community.sling.com/message/8542#8542) from a user that had similar problems. He made some changes that didn't make sense to me; however, it may help you.
Slingstud, did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue with my windows 7 desktop. I have AERO working so its not that. I kind of wonder if its my Nvidia graphics card. My windows 7 laptop looks fine. Here is the thread I made, did your tearing look like this? https://community.sling.com/message/35891#35891
