I have a Slingbox Pro-HD, it is connected to the same router as my computer and yet my computer cant find it, the network light is on. Any advice?
I'd recommend performing a factory reset as described in this article (http://support.slingmedia.com/get/KB-1000038.html).
I tried, that still not working.
Does it show up in the active DHCP leases of your router? If so, it could be a problem with a software firewaill that's on your operating system.
where would i find that? I have it connected to a port that i know works, i really dont know what to do.
You would look in your router's menu system. There should be a list of the network devices which have been asigned DHCP address. For every router its different. Below is an example for Linksys.
I have D LInk and i found the list, there are two IP addreses but both say they are for the computer i am currently using. 192.168.0.196 and 192.168.0.197
Very odd. If this is a new Slingbox, I recommend in calling Sling Techncial Support. They have team members available for phone support 7 am to 7 pm Pacific time seven days a week. Call them at 877.GO.SLING (877.467.5464).
