Is the computer that you are trying to set the Slingbox back up on hard wired to the same router as the Slingbox? If not, this would explain why you're not able to find the Slingbox on the network. You won't need to have the computer hardwired after the Setup process has been completed, of course. I would also check into your anti-virus on your computer (For example, Norton 360, Avast, et cetera), because sometimes they will close off the connection.

Thanks. Yes – my PC (Dell Inspiron 700/Win 8) is cabled via RJ-45 to same (only) router in house. While I can ping the slingbox from the PC I have not checked Norton (which is what I am using) for any port restrictions/etc. that is may be blocking..
The Slingbox is just sitting there with the Sling symbol lamps pulsating. I assume that is correct…
