The Slingbox requires an internet connection to send any signal. Below is a link that will explain what the Slingbox needs to work as it is intended:
Hope this helps!
I work for a company and we have supplied a client a laptop that can not be hooked up to the internet based on what it is controlling.
They travel all over the country with it and have recently asked if there was a way for them to share their screen with us for emergency tech support.
As of now there is no way of doing this without putting the laptop on the internet, which as I said can not happen.
The laptop has an HDMI port on it to hook up a second screen.
Via the HDMI port, can I hook the laptop up to a Silngbox 500/ Sling TV and be able to broadcast the screen of the laptop?
This is so I can give tech support and see the screen without the computer itself being on the internet.
The laptop is running windows 8.1
