With the website getting stuck on this part of the setup, you could try clearing the cache and cookies for your browser. If you are using an anti-virus, this program could also slow down the plug-in or response time of the website. You could try disabling this program for the setup process then turn it back on. "Hi Stanley, thanks for replying. Yes I should have posted that it's all sorted now thanks to the great Support Guy at Sling. It appears that I needed to download the old slingbox setup software as the setup interface on their website just wouldn't recognise the box on the network. All done now thank you and it's great! "
It was because of this post I assumed that I needed an old setup software instead of setup.slingbox.com.
