Hey T. Robinson,
Here is a Amazon Fire TV FAQ that explains some of the uses, and how to use, the Fire TV with our Slingplayer for Amazon Fire TV Application.
As for the delay, that is normal. It will take a bit of time for the signal to go from the app, to your Slingbox, and back to you.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply but I had read the info you referenced and it was no help. What I need is a guide to operating the Amazon Fire remote to utilize the features for the on screen remote for Slingplayer. For example, what button do I push on the Amazon remote to activate the onscreen Slingplayer remote? And so on and so forth. Slingplayer sheds no light on this issue. At the moment, I am simply exiting Slingplayer and reinitiating it to bring up the onscreen remote. This is a pain in the a**. Any suggestions or instructions you might offer will be very much appreciated.
I have hooked up my Slingbox 500 to an outside TV via Wi-Fi and am getting nice reception through Amazon Fire TV (thank you, John). However, I have questions about how to use the Amazon Fire TV remote to access my channels, DVR, etc. on Slingplayer. Is there anywhere I can get an explanation of how to use the Amazon remote? Or even how to get back to the start screen with the icons for the DVR, Guide, channels, Fast Forward, etc. short of exiting Slingplayer and restarting? Also, is the 5 second delay in response to the remote normal? Highly irritating. You won't channel surf with this connection.
