From the sounds on things, there could be a few potential causes for your issue. The first possibility is that the IR emitter is not connected, or not in front of the IR sensor on your cable box. Are you certain you have the IR emitter firmly connected to the Slingbox, and that it is placed with clear line of sight to the IR sensor on your PACE set-top box? If you do, then try reseating the IR emitter cable to ensure a tight connection.
The second possibility is that the incorrect cable-box model was selected during the setup process. Does your virtual remote look like the physical remote that you have at home? Try performing a hard reset on the Slingbox unit, and reconfigure the device to your cable box just in case the incorrect model was inadvertently chosen. If you are certain that the device has been set up properly, and there is nothing blocking the IR emitter, then there is a chance that the IR emitter itself is not sending a signal. If that is the case, don't hesitate to contact our technical support department, and we will be able to assist you in getting a replacement.
Here is a helpful support article that will assist you with your remote concern.
Hope this information is useful!
I assume you have already done a proper Forum Search for your model number in case other people have already answered your question ?
If so and that didn't help then check out this thread: https://community.sling.com/message/10363#10363
Come back if it that doesn't help either.
Thanks so much for responding. Unfortunately, I can't get my unit to work
after years of functioning great.
Any thoughts on something to try? I can watch but the remote doesn't have
the ability to do anything else.
