I am getting a no video signal but I can change the channel WHY?
It's because you have the correct remote for your component. The component sees the channel change request and it changes the channel.
But why do I not have any video signal?
Probably HDCP. How are your devices connected up ?
HDMI cable out of Directv box into Slingbox and HDMI out of Slingbox into tv
I assume you get the 500 TV Menu if you tap the Pass-through button ? If so it is definitely HDCP. Does your box have a component output ?

Stop using the HDMI cable. I ask again, does your box have a component output ? If so you use that
I hooked up the other cables and we are good to go!
