SlingBox Pro - HDMI Port Issues

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I could not find a clear answer, so help me out here if you can:

I just bought an used SlingBox Pro to watch the Fifa World Cup from the office, the image quality is OK when using the regular RCA cable (Red, Yellow and White) between the cable box and the SlingBox, however, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot more using the HDMI output, right?

So, I went out there and bought:

      1 HDMI cable

      1 HDMI splitter

Upgraded my internet connection to a larger upload speed

That was a dumb move =/

It seems like the SlingBox doesn't recognize my cable box RNG110 (I think that's the model) from Comcast.

I saw other people with this same issue, but not a clear answer to that.

One guy talked about the frequency of the HDMI output on the cable box was different from the input of the SlingBox.

      Is this true?

Is there a fix for this?

Other questions that I have are:

How can I make the SlingBox Pro receive a HDMI input?

      Do I need a set-top box?

Can I change any settings on the cable box or on the slingbox so they "talk" with each other through the HDMI output?

At this point, what are my options?

Thanks in advance for the help.
