When attempting Wi-Fi setup of the Slingbox M1 on Slingplayer for Desktop, please ensure that you do not have ethernet cable plugged in. There is a known issue with this configuration that has affected some users (we are working on a fix).
Let me know if this was your scenario.

Thanks, I was able to access the setup menu today. Unfortunately I'm not
able to get the M1 to connect to my wireless network. See the attached
screen shot to see the error that I get. Any recomendations?

I am having the exact same problem as Tom G 3 below in setting my M1 up. Initially saw Sling box on the Wi-Fi selection. It would not connect 2 times and now I am not able to find it again. Have done resets. Turned everything off. Reset the router. Nothing seems to bring it back.
I am trying the set up on my I Pad, as the hope is to work wireless in the future.
First time I setup M1 out-of-the-box everything worked fine. Another, account related issue caused me later to hard reset M1 and since then it does not works as originally.
- the Slingbox is not recognizing 5 gigahertz Network SSID I have so I have to enter it manually in order to connect when setting up M1 again
- also connection to Android app is not happening every time now, almost every other time there are errors showing up like "M1 is in Unknown State" or "Not in network ", retry helps but it makes me worry about what will happen next, specially when I leave for long travel away.
Any ideas how to bring back M1 to out of the box state?
