    Sling Account Hacked?

    dispencer Novice

Today I found an unautorized user viwing my Slingbox.  I have given neither my sling accoun logon credentials nor my slingbox finder ID/password to anyone. Has the Sling account database been hacked?

          Hello dispencer,

If you are getting a message that states "Another Authorized user is connected to the Slingbox, do you want to disconnect them?" this can occur if you have not completely disconnected from a Slingbox.

If you just close the browser down or shut the SlingPlayer application off, you are still connected to the Slingbox.  I recommend to disconnect every time.

But if you are concerned about your account being hacked, I recommend a hard reset of the Slingbox and to change your Sling Account password.

If you do not know how to do this, check out the articles below:

          Hope this helps!!!

              Thanks kevin.sling,

The problem was caused by Sling.  An old Slingbox Classic booted up with an incorrect port number and Sling was unable to tell one slingbox (mine) from the other.  Anyway, pleased that it is not a security issue.
