Trying to setup remote TV watching ON a TV remotely for my parents (late 70's, computer phobic) to watch.
Which streamer has the easiest interface to use? We used to have a SlingAV and SlingCatcher - but the Slingcatcher got zapped by a lightning bolt. They now cost upwards of $200 online and are no longer supported.
So I can find Sling Solo's online pretty cheap, but I am willing to get whatever is easiest for my parents to use to watch TV at their location.
Of the Netgear, the WD, or the Sony player, which is easiest? My parents don't even use tablets, so the Apple TV and Roku are out.
Should I look at the 350 over the Solo? If so, why? Either way, it looks like reliability could be an issue.
Thanks for any advice.
My honest opinion is to find yourself a used SlingCatcher. It is optimized for the use case you're describing--less technical knowledge required. The rest of the Connected Devices spectrum all seem to be much more touchy and place a higher support burden on the user (or the user's grandchild!).
