    Bandwidth connection problems

My home (where the Slingbox 500 is located) ISP upload speed is at least 5 Mbps, and when using my Slingbox 500 on my home wireless network the Slingbox bandwith speed is approximately the same. However, when accessed from a remote site via a CenturyLink DSL with a 1.5 Mbps download account the Slingbox bandwidth speed is considerably less than the 1.5 Mbps, sometimes as low as under .1 Mbps. When the CenturyLink DSL speed test is run, although the results are not always the full 1.5 Mbps, it is always considerably greater than the Slingbox bandwidth rate. Is there a reason the Slingbox rate would be substantially less than the DSL download speed, or is the CenturyLink speed test giving a false value?
