Low streaming bandwidth after moving Slingbox 500

    montel32

I had my Slingbox 500 setup and running fine.  I recently moved it from the basement TV to the main floor TV with DVR.  This location is closer to the wireless router.  I tested all the connection & functionality from my house via laptop before I left town again.  Now that I'm out of the country, I can't get a picture from home.  Bandwidth shows a dismal 88-96 kbps and no picture shows up.  It shows a connection, and I can access my remote + Channel listing.  I have reset the Slingbox, Cable Modem, and Router, but no improvement.  Is there something else I can do?

          Hello montel32,

In order to assist you with this issue, we are going to need to know a bit more information:

          • What device are you trying to view the Slingbox on?
          • What is your download and upload speed at the Slingbox location?
          • What is your download and upload speed at your remote location when the issue is occurring?

I would recommend using Speedtest.net to run the speed tests from a PC or Mac OR the "Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test" application if you are using a mobile device.

          Stay in touch!
