I know the sling has to be powered on. What about the cable set top box for remote viewing?

            Hi 4217chicago,

Thank you for using our answers forums. In order to get video through the Slingbox, you would need the set top box to be powered on. You can either leave it on at all times, or use the virtual remote that you programmed to turn it on like you would using the remote at home.

            Hope this helps!
