Sorry about the confusion with that article. With newwatch.slingbox.com there has to be an initial connection to the Internet and as soon as the Slingbox notices it is streaming to a device on a local network it will switch to LAN connection and no longer us your Data. There are a few instances where the unit does not switch and I will post an article that will help you correct these issues, if you are experiencing them.

I'm not having issues--I'm just trying to point out where support article 2000575 should be clarified.
However, when checking over the article you linked to (5000204), the "For SlingPlayer for iPhone/iPod touch" instructions aren't accurate. There no longer is an "Edit" button in the Directory listing.
