Do you get the "Verizon" remote on the screen, or is it the generic remote?
Verizon has recently upgraded some STB s/w, and there is an inactivity timeout feature that executes if the STB has no remote activity for a specific number of hours. I've seen it on STB at my own house.
I looked, but don't find any timeout configuration in the various menu settings. The timeout may be hard-coded. Fios helpdesk may know that information.
So, when you get that message, if you let the STB turn off, are you are saying you can't turn it back on, or you just can't prevent it from turning off once the notice pops up on the screen.....which is it?
I was just thinking, I wonder if turning OFF the Pop-up alerts would essentially defeat this issue. There is a setting in "Menu - Settings - Popup Alerts". Try turning that off, if it is turned on. I'll try to reproduce your issue at my house. I guess I've never used my slingbox to watch TV long enough to trip the inactivity notice.
Ok, I was watching TV tday....football games, and the pop-up setting is Enabled. The STB was on for over 7 hours without me touching any menu buttons, etc. I NEVER received the pop-up about turning off the STB.
This setting seems a little inconsistent, because I know I've seen it before when the TV/STB have been on for fewer hours.
I'll post something if I see it again and have access to my slingbox connection.
