    Using Slingbox without a router?

Can slingbox be set up using a router and then be connected to a Cable modem directly for use. I am a business and have multiple locations around town needing to be monitored. I'm looking to reduce costs of deployment and make the it easier to setup.

Sure, as long as the Broadband ISP doesn't require you to use Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE), Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), or Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP).  The cable modem would also need to have an Ethernet Port.

I wouldn't recommend it though, since you won't have any securtiy mechanisms in place that would normally be available in a Residential or SOHO gateway/router.
