Due to the nature of streaming on the internet, we would expect at least a minor delay in remote response (1-1.5 seconds); however, if your remote takes a much longer time to respond, you may want to check out your network speeds (upload at the Slingbox location and download where you're connecting). If they're below or near the minimum recommendations, you may want to improve them. If they're well above the minimums, the lag you're experiencing is probably due to other speed resitricting factors.
