Thanks for posting in the Slingbox Answers Forum! I'm sorry to hear you are unable to maintain a connection to your Slingbox SOLO via iPad or Netbook.
It sounds like the issue is related to poor Internet connection at the location of the Slingbox or on the network you are connecting to the Slingbox from.

its the slingbox, you need to have a part replaced inside... its the little battery looking thing which is welded to the motherboard (i forget what this part is called, sorry). the original part that slingbox used when they made the solo was has buldged, this should be visible when you open the slingbox.
its definitely this, same thing was happening for me a year or two ago. had this part replaced, works fine ever since.
