I'm using Chrome on OS X 10.8. When I go to the player, I get a message saying there is an update available. I agree, download the update, and install it. When I go to watch again, it still says there is an update.
(P.S. I'm still really upset that you guys discontinued the desktop client. I had no issues with it whatsoever; I didn't have to have a browser running to use it; I didn't have to use a secondary browser because my main one is having issues; I didn't have to bog my browser down with yet another plugin. The plugin is just awful and I wish Sling would just update the desktop client. ****, I'd pay another $30 for it over this junky web plugin.)
