I live overseas and the slingbox is at my parent's house in the US. I have had the Slingbox Pro-HD for almost two years now and recently had problems with the picture/audio quality. It is going in and out on most channels. I thought it might be my internet connection but it is not. I have been reading about resetting the slingbox by pressing the button on the rear of the box itself. My question is.....would the computer we use to watch slingbox be needed for anything after it has been resetted? I am trying to figure out if there is any other way to fix our problem without having to fly back home with the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There are 2 levels of reset (3 if you count a power-cycle). A simple press of the reset button should just reboot it and does not require any further action. If you hold the button in for more than 5 seconds it will do a factory reset and then you will need to use a computer at the Slingbox location to re-setup the system completely.
