I have the exact same problem with my slingbox 500. I have yet to have anyone reply on my post as well! Where is tech support for this device. I had hoped after spending the big bucks for the latest and greatest that I wouldnt have this problem, and secondly that great support would be johny on the spot.
Please let me know if you found any solution to this problem.
It is quite annoying. HAve reset to factory setting mutliple times without improvement. HAve it hooked up to Directv hr23-700 via component and HDMI as instructed. HAve most recent firmware.
Also noticed that it flickers horribly when you go to the slingbox menu making it almost unusable.
ANy help. Wonder if we all have bad boxes?
They have told me that it is HDCP issue and that you must use component only hookup and avoid HDMI due to HDCP. They advertise as compatible with HDMI and then hedge when there is a problem. Very frustrating. It is getting worse. I have done everything but change out to all component hookup due to me having to remove the television from wall and fishtaping component wires instead of the hdmi. Pain in arse.
