DirecTV receiver model(s)? Possibly a "Genie Mini Client" C31 in tandem with a DirecTV "Genie" HR34 or a DirecTV H25 HD receiver?
Larger HR34 and smaller C31:
If so, you may need a DirecTV 10 Pin to Component Dongle for DirecTV H25 and C31 (H2510PIN):
You might be able to get one from DirecTV for free, depending on their mood. Per "peds48_installs", all the outputs are live simultaneously:
The cable should allow you to drive the following simultaneously:
- The Pro HD's component inputs
- A component-fed HDTV downstream of the Pro HD
- A HDMI HDTV (directly from the DirecTV box itself)
Note, if you use HDMI for a TV and component for the Pro HD, HDCP (copy protected) channels such as either pay-per-view or premium channels (HBO and the like) may not be sent out the component output of the DirecTV box if your TV is off. This is because the DirecTV box has already sensed the TV attached via HDMI. The DirecTV box will not output component video without the TV being powered on so the TV can handshake with the DirecTV box to ensure copy protection is being respected. In this case either:
- Use component for the TV
- Turn your TV on
Please note all of the above is educated guesses based on my current DirecTV and Slingbox setup. As long as DirecTV has kept things the same, it should be correct.
