I just setup my Slingbox 500 today and when I go to SlingPlayer on my iPhone 4 to watch TV, it cuts off after a second and turns black. There is also no audio. I've toggled with the cables about 50 times today and nothing works. Any suggestions?
Maybe I got a faulty SlingBox?
We have the same problem, except just the video cuts out. We have audio.
Tried disconnecting the HDMI cable to the Slingbox, then we get video on the tv, but not remotely from the computer.
I suspect it is HDCP. The stream is being stopped once your AV device realises it is protected content. Nothing to do with your Slingbox, it is your TV Provider doing this.
Is there anything I can do to still get it to stream? I don't even care if it's HD anymore, I just want it to work. I have Cox Communications as my cable provider.
...or am I just doomed as long as I have this cable provider?
We finally got ours to work by not using any HDMI cables at all. Followed the instructions on the support page
and used the other cables for video and audio. Works fine now.
Same thing happens with mine and from what I read it is the Set top box SA 8300 HD. Only solution I found but haven't tried is all component cables,no HDMI at all.
I'm sending mine back. 4 hours of screwing around,this product just ain't worth it.
Mine did the same so I changed to the componet connection and it works fine.
Also, I had to disconnect the HDMI from the cable box. It does not work with both HDMI and componet hooked into the cable box.
