It is almost certainly to do with the router settings where the Slingbox is located. You must open port 5001 on that router (using port forwarding) and then make sure ONLY a TCP feed is selected. It cannot be a UDP feed or any other combination, only TCP. This only applies to the SlingCatcher as watching on a laptop works in a different way.
If no one in Florida understands how to set this up then get someone at the Slingbox location to log on to your home network and download for free www.logmein.com. You do the same at your end and then you can access their computer and in turn your router. Check out your router's port forwarding instructions on Google.
