Fixed for a day to hit 31/10/2012 deadline! perhaps we can use this thread going forward-
Post up [home] and down [remote] speeds for both sq and auto -dots for hq
with a brief summary for each.
up = 2
sq = 1.5 -1.9 no buffering ok pic
auto = 0.8 -1.6 consistant buffering every 2 -5 minutes
pic inconsistent [not hq]
hq = 3 dots constant buffering pic inconsistent
I'm having the same problems.
iPad 3 App (latest version)
Slingox Location Internet: 30down 5up
Viewing Location Internet: 30down 5up
SQ on iPad app works fine.
HQ or Auto is unusable as data rate drops continously to 600-800kbps
Works perfectly in HQ when watching via a notebook computer at the same viewing location (transfer rate is greater than 2000 at all times).
It appears this is an issue with the iPad app.
I have a setup at home with several fixed IP addresses and a separate router on each one and a slingbox on each one. Each router is connected back to the same AT&T RG and they have 100Mb ethernet connectivity between them.
If I run the OSX or Windows client from any net to any net streaming is fine.
If I run the iOS iPad app on the same net as the SB HQ is fine.
If I run the iOS iPad app on a different net from the SB with 100Mbps connectivity it hiccups every few seconds.
Its definitely an iOS issue.
I realized that I had left my Internet speeds out. I get 22.95 Mbps download and 2.85 Mbps upload.
update- this is exactly the same issue as before the fix for me.
over the next few days can everyone who posted on all the various threads
please take part in this thread - with all the numbers as above.
if your ipad is working its just as important to post to give sling the whole picture.
I thank you.
I have an hd-pro.
Ios6 on my ipad.
Home wifi speeds of 18mb down 3mb up. The sling works fine in hd or auto at home with 1500 to 3500.
Once I switch to using a verizon 4glte mifi, the hd ranges from 800 to 1800 for several seconds then screen goes blank, buffers, drops to 692 or 632, then goes back up for a few seconds, buffers...etc etc
Slingbox not acknowledging this material issue should tell everyone the direction of their ethical compass. I will not own another sling media product.
Running solo on iPad2. Auto and HQ running fine on home network. Streaming at 4032kb.
Away from home, runs fine on SQ.
When I switch to AUTO it buffers badly.
This has been happening with speeds over 800kb and even on 2200kb.
I'm uploading at 7.5MB from home end, so there's no issue there.
Looks like the fix hasn't worked for solo.
Slingbox network 6Mbit/s up
iPad network 20Mbit down
iPad SQ 200-800kbps no spinning wheel (2 green dots)
ipad HQ (Automatic) constantly 832kbps totally unwatchable due to buffering (4 green dots)
Same network PC/Mac 2-4Mbit/s with the (new) Sling web player
... I also tried sharing a network with the iPad wifi hotspot function. Connecting a Mac and from that Mac i tried the Sling web player again (connected via the ipad) and I got 2-4Mbit/s streaming.
Thank you for contacting us here on the forums! With the Slingplayer application there are certain requirements for running the modes. The minimum speed would be 1200 kbps for HQ mode on a WiFi connection. Please see the link for the Slingplayer speed requirements:
Hope this helps!
