The effect of Electronic Fluorescent ballast on the Slinglink turbo

    bobkaz

I am in the process of trying to set this up and before I do it I want to check to see if Electronic Fluorescent ballast on the same electrical phase will impact the signal back and forth from the Slingbox to the router  using the slinglnk turbo

          Hello bobkaz,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the land of the forums.  We do understand why you are are asking about the effect of the Electronic Fluorescent Ballasts.

They actually work like a conductor, and we have seen in the past that they sometimes can affect the actual SlingLink's.  Since the SlingLink's are dependant on the actual current in the house, we have found that certain lights can actually affect the SlingLink.  It does not happen often, but we have seen it from time to time.  Simply removing the light from the area of the SlingLink's will usually fix the issue.

          Hope this helps,

          The Slingbox Moderation Team.
