I have a Slingbox Solo in PA and I am streaming to an iPad2 in Madrid. SlingPlayer for iPad 1.4.6 crashes again and again.
The Slingbox is connected directly to an Apple TimeCapsule using ethernet. I checked the upload speed at the website http://testmy.net/upload, and I consistently get rates of 1.9 Mbps, far above the rate of 800 kpbs recommended for a Solo. I also check my download speed on my iPad2 using the Speedtest.net app, and I consistently get rates of 3-4 Mbps. So, according to the support article http://support.slingbox.com/get/KB-2000394.html, I should be just fine.
When I start SlingPlayer, it buffers for a second, then I get 3 green dots (http://support.slingbox.com/get/KB-5000270.html) and transmission rates of 1000-1100 kbps and a great picture for a few minutes. However, if the transmission rate drops just a little bit, say to 900 kpbs, the app crashes.
Hi jhs0807, I suggest you delete the Slingplayer app from the iPad and install it again, if the issue continues you can restart your network and try to use the Slingplayer.
