What I'm getting from your post, is that you can't get the SlingPlayer app to work.
In this case and as a first step, you can uninstall the application and download it again.
Besides that, make sure that the Slingbox Internet Viewing is properly (and manually) configured.
Also, try from a different WiFi network to discard the current one as a potential issue.
One more thing, will be to make sure your network meet the minimum requirements for the application to work.
