i loaded the slingplayer app on my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 but when i launch it the system looks (and finds) the slingbox BUT tells me to go look for a software (firmware) update on the slingbox.com site. Problem : i already updated the slingbox at installation time and it tells me there are no other updates necessary ! so, i'm stuck with an app that refuses to connect...for the wrong reason. what is the real problem and how to solve it ?
If you are not able to connect to the Slingbox using your Galaxy tab and you have that firmware update message, probably your Slingbox is not the PRO-HD, it's the red Slingbox PRO and right now, only the Slingbox SOLO and the Slingbox PRO-HD are supported to work with the Android Application. Do you have the red Slingbox PRO or the black Slingbox PRO-HD?
