    Slingcatcher connection errors

      Hi All

Due to work I am renting a property for the work days and returning home at weekends.

I use both PC and SlingCatcher and they work fine at other away from home locations.

However in this new place I have problems connecting.

The SlingCatcher appears to connect OK with status messages 'Connected' & 'Starting' then a long period (minutes) pass and 'Network Error' appears.

I try thge same thing with PC SlingPlayer V2. This gives more informationas follows:-

      Error: 0x92340011

      Context#: 46

      Operation : 1

The operation failed because it was taking too long to finish.

The internet connection through my BT Home Hub 2 is ok with browsers, email and even BBC i-Player.

However, looking at the router logs there seem to be a lot of FEC & CRC errors

      ADSL line status

      Connection information

      Line attenuation (Down/Up)32.0 dB / 18.0 dB
      Output power (Down/Up)19.8 dBm / 12.1 dBm
      Loss of Framing (Local)0

      CRC Errors (Down/Up)66 / N/A
      HEC Errors (Down/Up)N/A / 2

My thoughts are that it could be either the local exchange (village) or the Home Hub router itself. However on talking to BT they say all is fine and the router works ok.

      I am not convinced.

Anybody had similar problems or can shed any further light on my predicament

Sorry for length of this, but you can't get to much info........
