I have both the HDS-600RS and a Singbox Classic.
The reduced latency of control mode on the Slingplayer desktop app for the Classic makes using an EPG to schedule recordings etc. much easier than the lag I get from the HDS-600 using the Web Slingplayer.
Do what most of us old-timers do and don't bother with the Web version and stick with Slingplayer. It's much superior.
On a Mac, the latest Slingplayer desktop app won't connect to the HDS-600RS.
I don't think that is intentional or the forum would be awash with complaints. Have you tried reinstallling it ?
You are correct, connecting to the HDS-600RS is only supported when using web based SlingPlayer client.
I have the same problem. My old SB100 which i bought in 2005 has 1 second of latency but my new HDR600 has about 10 !
The audio switches but then you have audio of 1 channel and stalled video of another.
I think Sling/Echostar should address this and include in the next firmware update.
Any ideas ?
