Well, not only has Slingplayer Mobile for Windows Phone not been updated to take advantage of the new Mango enhancemnents, but now the current version of the app is not working properly on phones updated to Mango.
The player starts up okay, but is pretty much broken after that. Here are some of reviews recently posted on the Zune Marketplace:
"Aftrer upgrading to Mango, the app will stream OK as long as you don't try to change the channel or pull up a guide (for my Cable TV DVR). When you do either of these things, the screen goes grey for a period of time (1.5 minutes when trying to cursor down in my TV guide) before recovering. This makes the app virtually unusable. My expectation, for such an expensive ($30) app, is that Sling should be applying resources to fix this problem as soon as possible (should have been fixed prior to the official rollout of Mango). I hope a Mango update is available soon for this "must have" application."
"Need an update for Mango. Not working anymore......."
"Was working well. Now there are issues after mango update. Grayed out. must get updated...."
"Screen goes grey and is very slow when using with Mango."
Same problem here on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). Video streams fine, but press any button on the remote and screen goes grey with a slow progress indicator, lasting at least 30 seconds. At the end of the long delay it appears that the remote key if finally transmitted to the TiVo. Very frustrating. Many free apps have updated for Mango quickly. This $30 app should've done the same. The ball was dropped.
Hey all - just FYI - this has been fixed:
