Understanding Watch on Slingbox.com error codes
This typically happens when the SlingPlayer software is able to locate the Slingbox, starts the connection, but the connection fails to work.
There are multiple possibilites, but this is a quick way to point you in the right direction:
- If you go to more than 2 locations with your computer (ex. an Internet Cafe or a Library), and the same issue occurs, it could be an issue at the Slingbox device's location or with your computer.
- If you move your computer to a different location and it works, it's an issue with the previous location.
- If you try a different computer and it works, it's an issue with the computer, likely security software or its ISP.
If #2&3 work, you have to be at the Slingbox device's location to try and fix this.
Get UPnP or manual Port Forwarding working on the router.
I can test remotely that the port is opened and forwarding properly. With the new player I can now only view in minimum quality, even though the streaming floats around 1500 kbps. As soon as I go one notch above minimum it takes all of 2-4 minutes before I get the W202 error code. As I've said in my own discussion about this same topic, this issue only started to occur when you guys changed the web player.
