    DirecTV Receiver Not Independant?

    ontarff

I connected my new Slingbox Pro-HD and it works fine with the caveot that when I change inputs to watch my DirecTV receiver I am getting a loss of signal message. Is this because I have connected the component cables from the DirecTV DVR to the Slingbox? Shouldn't the DVR output signals on all outputs including the HDMI connection to the TV? Please advise.

It's HDCP.   Most boxes now disable all the other HD outputs if the HDMI output is connected.   Solution is to use component from device to Slingbox then component to TV and throw away the HDMI.

This is working differently, the component output to the Slingbox works but the HDMI output to the Onkyo receiver is not. The HDTV is not getting a HDMI signal from the Onkyou receiver. I have read that if both output cables (HDMI & component) are connected to the DirecTV HR21-700, the component cables are supposed to be compromised by the HDMI connection. This isn't the case. I agree that it must be a HDCP issue.
