slow download speeds on slingbox viewing end

    wporter22

so here is the deal - hope someone can help...

on the end that the slingbox is hooked to - the download speeds are about 10 Mbps - upload of about 2.5 Mbps.

viewing end of slingbox download speeds are around 7 Mbps and upload of about 2 Mbps.  (outside of USA)

why when i am viewing the slingbox will the speeds not go over 400 kbps?

The speeds for Internet connections on viewing end are likely to a speed test site in the local area.

But in between your viewing area and the slingbox location are a lots of distance and other network sites that your streaming signal must pass through -- and the signal will be passed only at the speed of the "weakest link" in this long chain.   You might want to try to find (from a computer at your viewing location) an internet speed test site that is physically located near the city/county where your Slingbox resides, and see what throughput speeds it reports for both upload and download to your viewing location.
