I know a lot of people have requested this with until now no effect.
I have a home theater PC that runs Ubuntu 10.04 and XBMC. It would be really wonderful to be able run SlingPlayer 2.0 on it. A version for this OS can't be hugely different from the Mac as both are Unix-like OSes and both use OpenGL for graphics. I expect it could be created by one engineer at SlingMedia in less than a month.
To stall any of the obvious responses, I have spent a great deal of time trying to get it to work on Wine without success. I have also read about the SlingPlayer patch for XBMC but that does not work with 2.0/Pro HD at all and in any case, video without audio or remote control capability is not interesting.
